If you wonder how we can work together, what we will do for our visitors at Brazos Bend State Park, come and join the "Natural Perl" Photo-walks.

February 4th – Saturday at 5 PMBird Photography at Brazos Bend:  I thought that because of the recent meeting presentation, there may be a few members interested in trying their luck with the scheduled photo walk sponsored by volunteers at the park.  I will be in the parking lot at 4:45 PM and we can gather as a group and tag along.  Be forewarned that this is not prime birding season.  If anything, we can get some sunset pictures.  I am checking on the time, as this seems a little late in the afternoon as 3 PM seems more appropriate, and will send out another note next week.  If you haven’t chased birds before, a 300mm lens is a minimum and 400-500 mm lenses are much better.

February 11th Saturday at 10 am to 4 pm will be Homestead Heritage Day at Jesse Jones Park.  We can meet in the parking lot at 10 am and just wander through the historical re-enactment.  For those that care to, we can go to lunch at a local restaurant and compare photos.

Bring the family for a “living history” look at 19thcentury Texas settler life that includes demonstrations by scores of authentically outfitted re-enactors, folk music, blacksmithing, black powder weaponry, open fire cooking, and more. All ages

Sedona Trip on March 23,24, & 25 or March 30,31, & April 1 as potential dates, with the earlier 3 day weekend as the most probable.  We are working with John and Shari in Sedona to line up a couple of hotel options.

March Activities Yet to be Scheduled.

First up for sure will be to attend the Fotofest Biennial in Houston – This is a major photography exhibit that displays at multiple locations throughout the Houston down town area. This current exhibit scheduled for March 16th through April 29th will feature Russian photography.  We can schedule a couple of days for those interested club members to view exhibits and meet at a local restaurant to discuss what we have seen.

Second and third options include driving to Goliad to photograph the mission and park or a local visit to the George Ranch about 1 hours drive from downtown Houston.  There are great grounds at the ranch and a grand old house with numerous special events through 2012 year. We can key in on the cowboys spring break.  Alan has visited the mission and came back with some very interesting photos.

·         Tales of Texas Feb. 25th – Visit this on your own if you get a chance.

·         Cowboys Spring Break March 10-19th
