The meeting was opened by Richard White, the Club President. After welcoming the attendees to our July meeting Richard reviewed the agenda items to be covered in the meeting. One guest was introduced and the meeting began with a brief overview of our web page encouraging all to utilize the web page to find our latest and greatest information on upcoming events and review photos of our previous monthly challenges. All are encouraged to forward your best photos taken at the PowWow to Richard so that he can create a gallery of the event.

A final call for all wild life photos was made and all participants were requested to upload files to Richard this week.

A presentation was given by each individual participating in the Dollar Store visit. Each participant was presented a gift by Pete.

A trip is planned for Saturday, July 17th, to Varner-Hogg Plantation near West Columbia, TX. We are scheduled to take a guided tour at 10:00 a.m. and tour the Plantation House at 11:00 a.m.

On August 7th at 5:30 p.m., we are scheduled to take a cruise on Armond Bayou. Armond Bayou is located at Bay Area Park on Bay Area Blvd. The boat holds 12 people so we will have two trips of 45 minutes each. Please let Alan Montgomery know if you will be attending this cruise for he needs a head count. If we fill the boat up the cost will be $10.00 each. Bring food to share with the group and your own drinks and water.

Gerry Habby, our Club Treasurer, gave a report on the clubs finances.

Richard gave an overview of all photos that were submitted for our Monthly Challenge, photos that use backlighting. If you missed the meeting you can review the photos submitted on the web page under Galleries.

For our August meeting our photo challenge is to present photos with clouds and we are encouraged to try black and white for this assignment.

Pete announced that our next month’s theme is “Travel”. He has a surprise speaker that will give tips and recommendations on traveling with your photographic gear.

See you at next months meeting scheduled for, August 10, 2010.
