Richard White, our President, opened the meeting welcoming all to our February meeting. Richard gave an overview of items that were going to be covered. We had several guests that attended and each was introduced.
Richard gave a quick overview of our Web Page encouraging all to access the web page to find our latest and updated information on upcoming events and to review photos of our previous monthly challenges.
We have a field trip planned this month to the Battleship of Texas, in Laporte and to the wet lands for additional images. Due to scheduling conflicts we are looking to changing the date previously set for February 20. Review our upcoming events page for the updated information on this trip. Richard will follow up with an e-mail letting everyone know details about the field trip.
Gerry Habby, our Club Treasurer, gave an overview of our clubs finances and reminded all that our clubs dues of $50.00 are due.
Richard presented an overview of all the photos that were submitted for our Monthly Challenge, “Landmarks”. If you missed the meeting you can review the photos submitted on the web page under the Galleries Tab.
Will Kennard, who is located at the Woodlands, is asking for volunteers to take photos of the fire department/ambulance in that area. You may even get to ride on the Pumper Truck with the fire chief. If you would like further information on this volunteer work send Will an e-mail at, will.kennard@gmail.com.
Our April 13 regularly scheduled meeting has been rescheduled to April 22 and will not be held at our usual meeting place. Instead we will relocate our meeting place to Tom Collins Studio to hear a presentation on the “Future of Digital Photography”. We will discuss further details in our next months meeting.
Pete gave a quick slide show presentation on the proper procedures into changing your lenses on your camera. Thanks to Pete for sharing this informative slide show with us.
Our guest speaker, Yasir M. Hakim of Professional Camera Repair gave an overview on cleaning our sensors. Yasir gave a very informative presentation. Thanks to Yasir for attending our club meeting and for your presentation.
Our next month presenter will be George and Linda Greene. They will present a slide show presentation of Antarctica. We anticipate this presentation of beautiful photos.
For our March meeting our photo challenge is to present photos of sheds in disrepair or structures broken down. This can be old barns, houses or sheds.
